When Less is More
Consume, consume, consume. Be it in our garage, our homes, or our mouths.
Consumers is the mantra that we’ve been conditioned by—the one we are in recovery from. But as we all know, recovery is a way of living not a destination.
When more, more, more gets the best of us and we become just that, “more,” as it more weight, more fat, more tired, more exhausted, more disgusted; we start a diet, or a fitness program with one thing in mind: LESS.
We want to take the more mantra, the more lifestyle and do a 180 and become less. So with great vim and vigor we begin the exuberant path to LESS.
Good intentions, wrong direction. For, while “more” may be in some ways pathological, “more” as in forward, progress, vision, expansion, creation is our basic instinct. We are forward moving and “less” can put us in direct opposition to this instinct. To forward, to growth.
So what if the solution, the path to LESS is actually MORE?
Rather than a focus on contraction, on less food, less energy, less you; the intentions remains less fat but the focus is on MORE. More Strength, more energy, more movement, more muscle, more activity, more time— an all around life of the abundance of the things and experiences that invigorate life.
And yes, it even works for the simple life. For simplifying need not be less stuff but more space in your life, more clarity, more freedom, more time, more pure and true joy.
If you’ve given the LESS focus a try, as most people have, you know how well that works.
How about giving the “More Lifestyle” a try.
